system Image list

Im usin SHGetFileInfo to get the system image list. But my problem is that I have a application who needs to use it in different places. I thought about making the system image list global in myApp. That didn't work.
Then I thought about copying the system image list to a private member in my CFileListCtrl (one of the controls using the system image list),that didn't work.
I NEEEEEEEEED suggestion how to solve this,PLEASE!
