Why retrieval of index of current selection through keyboard in list control is not correct??

Hi,

I was trying to retrieve the index of the current item in a list control through keyboard inputs like up, down, home, end, Page Up and Page Down. But it does not seem to give me the correct index. It always give me the index of the previous selection. Does anybody know why and how canI correct this?
