If so, how does that work?

Thanks

it works by maintaining with a connection with a remote computer for one of the several reasons:
1. file transfer
2. remote control of the computer: meaning, as if you are there by virtually using its computer (the remote user will be like sharing its resources with you, keyboard, monitor, mouse)
3. remote networking (although dial-up networking is more efficient)

You may wanted to consider using a *free* PC Anywhere type app called VNC. It's made available under the GNU license agreement which means source code is available. It way better than PC Anywhere b/c it runs just about everywhere (Solaris, NT/95/98,AIX, CE, Linux, etc.) There's ports to new platforms everytime.

Here's the link, enjoy!
