adding a printer

I am trying to add a printer silently, I currently used a full set of shell commands to run the add printer wizard and sent all the keys respectively using .SendKey, Is there a better way of doing this? Also, is there a way to set printer properties? If anyone has some information or references I could look up, it would be much appreciated. Thank you
