Playing 2 .wav files in sequence

I am trying to "link" 2 .wav files such that sound1.wav plays then sound2.wav plays. As it stands now sound1.wav begins to play and then sound2.wav plays over the top of sound1.wav effectively canceling out sound1.wav. A wait state would work but I am sure that there is a better way to pull this off.

Use DirectSound and you can play both at the same time.........look for some samples of DirectSound on some search engines
