Shared Library path !!!

Hi guys,
Our local applet trying to access a DLL throws up the exception "java.lang.unsatisfied link error", X.dll is not found in the shared library path.
We have actually included the directory of X.dll in our path and also our library path.
We also tried including it in our windows\system directory.
Anyone can help me out in this.
