dynamically change combo box

Greetings, I need to dynamically change the lists in a combo box. There are times when I want there to be only choices - 1, 2, 3, or 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, ... etc. any direction would be greatly appreciated. thanks
