Re: CG members photo album
Hi Folks,
Finally, I got myself in to visiting this wonder lying in my very own backyard (well, almost :D, at 1000 kms away from Bombay / Mumbai), on the 3 Feb 2007.
That place is incredibly beautiful!
Cheers,
Sid!
PS: Photos can never convey the real beauty of the location... Seeing is believing!
Re: CG members photo album
Yeah... nice.. did you visit Agra fort and Fatehpur sikri? where all did you visit? We had gone there for a trip from Office and it was real fun.. we were about 40 people together. You can guess now... :) Its very close for us than for folks from Mumbai.. :)
.. and what's written there on your T-shirt? Stop Hacking.. <then what?>? ;)

You say I look young? Well, many people say that. The fact is I'm 27. ;)
Always thought one have to be 30+ to be selected as MVP :D
Re: CG members photo album
nice one, Siddhartha.. Sure looks grand. It's hard to imagine how beautiful it is by merely looking at a photo. Those people right at the foot of the Taj Mahal appear so miniscule !!

It was the thermos with a very hot tea. But in that situation it could have been called a "summer-dressed-person-while-the-temperature-was-minus-fifteen-degrees" prize.

The Taj Mahal is on my "must see" waiting list. Don't know when I'll be visiting it, but hopefully rather soon than later. ;)

Youngest MVP ever was 13. Youngest on CG, nohero, was 16.

While I did visit the Agra Fort, Fatehpur Sikri was unfortunately not on the guided tour. I guess, this place is one that I sorely missed - hearing from the reactions of people around me.
The tour operator instead chose to take us to Mathura and Vrindavan. I have nothing against these places, but would have preferred Fatehpur Sikri anyday.
(At the Mathura Temple, the security guards didnt let me in on attempt 1 because they said that my rucksack was too big , this in spite of the fact that I had deposited my cameras, cellphone et al. Undeterred, when I made a second attempt, they searched me thoroughly - if you know what I mean :o, and on searching my bag found a swiss knife and a USB stick. They didn't recognize / understand the knife, and also didn't understand what the USB stick does and therefore didn't let me in again. )

Yeah, I envy Delhi-ites for their great location and scenic places!
I guess, as far as historical significance and beauty goes, Bombay diminishes in comparison. Fortunately, we have the film industry and the beach - else, there would have been a little more than crowded trains, and a population of 15 mn to be proud of. :D

I was on vacation in North India starting with Udaipur in Rajashtan, followed by Jaipur. From Jaipur we came to Delhi and finally back home to Bombay - spending 3 nights in each of these places.
Seeing photos posted by Kiran earlier, I also wished to visit Jaisalmer, but that would be in the direction opposite to Delhi (from Udaipur) and I had to leave it for later - Delhi and Agra being on my priorities for this trip.
It was wonderful. I always complained of having seen too little of North India, and with this trip, I can finally claim to have seen a little. :)
Need to come back...
Here is a pic of mine at the Qutb-Minar (the world's tallest brick structure standing and 800 years old) in Delhi...

And here is a better photo of the Qutb-Minar, (better because it is one taken by me, and importantly, without me in it :D )...

Oh, that shirt is a gift from some software company during the last TechEd I visited in Barcelona.

Better not decipher... It makes no sense. People try hard reading it nevertheless, trying to figure out what the company is saying. :D

Yes, you should!
Looking at photos, I always thought that I'd seen it in one way or another (it must after all be one of the most photographed monuments), but when I entered the complex, I was truly spellbound. :)
The word 'beautiful' does no justice to it...
