jdbc with mysql

hi,
can anyone here who can explain me how install and configure mysql 5.0 for java database....then how to create connection with jdbc..i am a newbie to java so plz explain in detail....
plz help i am in big trouble i have to submit my project

1. Use Uniform Server or XAMPP for local MySQL/PHP server
2. Download jdbc MySQL driver jar and include it in your java project
