Brand New to Crystal Reports 11.5 Standard

I'm an sql/.net developer and just got handed Crystal Reports Std 11.5 and asked to create a report with a prompt for the USER TO ENTER a from and to date for selection. Having a bit of trouble figuring out how to do that - online helps says click the filter button but I don't see a filter button (maybe Enterprise only edition). So, I want a good online tutorial recommendation and perhaps a book or cd recommendation that can get me started - specifically as it pertains to prompts that act as parameters to filter the dataset. Any recommendations/help/suggestions greatly appreciated.
