However, diesel engines are costlier to buy - so, the advantage of having a diesel motor may be applicable only if one drives a lot. If you are doing less than 10000 kms / year then you are better off buying a petrol-based engine because though costlier to use, it is a lot cheaper to buy.
No, no, I meant engine capacity, not car capacity ;). As far as I noticed, many cars came in two versios: diesel and gasoline. But the diesel engine is always larger in capacity than the gasoline one. For instance I have a Skoda Octavia 1.6l. The equivalent on diesel is 1.9l. That's what I meant.
As for lower fuel consumption, yes, that's true.

They are not really equivalent, right? The equivalent petrol-version of the Skoda 1.9 Diesel motor is the 1.8 FSI motor.
Also, at the 2.0 litre levels they have matching Diesel and Petrol motors: 2.0 TDI and 2.0 FSI.
(Actually, in Europe one does not always get a Diesel version of the lowest end petrol motor.)
Re: CG members photo album
The numbers I was quoting was for the 2.0 liter diesel and the 2.0 liter petrol so both the same capacity and then you see the diesel has some advantages ;)

Ah, yes, well, it's 10.6m. Might be not so small I have no clue actually, but up to know I didn't had any problems with it for normal driving, parking, maneuvering, etc...
Re: CG members photo album
Oh, that is quite good! :)
So, after all, I did drive a beta version earlier... :D
Re: CG members photo album
hehe, maybe you drove the S40 from last year, the one with the circular backlights...
Re: CG members photo album
It was early 2006 when I was test-driving some cars... So, you are quite right. It was an older version with a turning radius of 13m, IIRC (and back then it had reinforced my belief that Volvo makes good trucks :D, looks like they have improved a lot!). :)

It's at Wat Tham Sua (or Tiger Cave Temple) in Krabi, Thailand. The picture was taken just after walking up (and down) a 1237 steps staircase to see a big golden Buddha.

Your friends look like saying: "C'mon, dude... it's late! Let's go!"

I just return from skiing in Zell am See and Kaprun, Austria. Here is a picture of me on the Kitzsteinhorn glaciar.
Re: CG members photo album
