    Abstraction concept problem?

    When I design my application, I always want to group up everything in common
    to the base class, and have other classes which have that component
    to get a pointer which is the one that is as...

    Re: std::vector with negative subscript?

    I finally resort to a O Log (N) solution, by specifying a key like

    stringstream oss;
    oss << x << ":" << z;
    grid[oss.str()] = node;

    It gets slower, but I think it's more robust.
    Thanks

    std::vector with negative subscript?

    My application I am developing is purely geometric.
    So sometimes I need to index an array with a negative subscript.
    For example, the extent of a scene may span from a negative range to a positive...

    Arr. Yeah... Sorry for being dumb..
    Thanks

  6. How to make boost catch some exceptions when a shared_ptr is null?

    I would like the try block to throw an exception on neighbour or node being NULL and catch with
    the continue catch block, what boost exceptions are available to allow me to do so?
    Thanks

  7. Returning a boost::shared_ptr from the stack without constructing it?

    Assuming the method returns a boost::shared_ptr<AStarPath>,
    how do I construct an AStarPath on the return statement without
    going through constructing a newPath variable?
    Thanks

  8. Re: error C2678: binary '

    Hello,
    I've been trying new things to see if the overloading method works also.
    But I am getting error when I overload the operator <

    bool operator < (const AABB& other);

    shared_from_this problem?

    I've got a class which derives from an abstract class and enable_shared_from_this<>
    however, I have fully implemented the abstract class, but I can't use shared_from_this()
    to get a pointer of...
  10. Re: Link Time Symbol undefined Error when exporting a DLL method wrapped in a namespa

    I solved it, it is because I forgot to coherently insert the same preprocessor directives into both projects
  11. Re: Link Time Symbol undefined Error when exporting a DLL method wrapped in a namespa

    Yes, I did.
    I have both projects outputting to
    EXE:
    $(SolutionDir)\$(Configuration)\$(ProjectName).exe

    DLL:
    $(SolutionDir)\$(Configuration)\$(ProjectName).dll

    to no avail.
  12. Link Time Symbol undefined Error when exporting a DLL method wrapped in a namespace

    I got a method which is defined in a .cc file and has the following syntax

    namespace Sim
    {
    #define DLL __declspec(dllexport)

    class DLL Scheduler

  14. error C2678: binary '

    Hello,
    I received the following error when trying to call on an AABB intersection method, which is defined the argument
    as AABB&

    bool AABB::Intersect(AABB &b)

  15. Re: Using boost::shared_ptr in a std::set comparator?

    Here is the code I am having, I think it's the only place.
    Thanks
    Jack

    #include <mutex>
    #include "cpf_common.h"

  16. Using boost::shared_ptr in a std::set comparator?

    I just can't compile this thing after spending 2 days on it.
    I still can't figure out why the error happened.
    So here is the code snippet

  18. To erase an element from a std::list. The code doesn't work

    Dear all,
    In this code snippet, an error shows up which says it is not incrementable at runtime?
    Any ideas how to fix it?
    Seems like this line breaks the linked list

    it = global_q.erase(it);...
  19. Re: How to make a std::thread live in the class scope?

    Something like this?
    Thanks

  20. How to make a std::thread live in the class scope?

    Two questions for you guys.
    1) How do I call the proc function within the CPF_Thread?
    2) But this means I can't have something like std::thread t1(&CPF_Thread::proc);
    on the stack, because the...
  21. Re: Compiler Error C2512: 'Coordinater' : no appropriate default constructor availabl

    Okay, I've solved it, the reason was I put all included files in one central place, and then I include that
    in that Coordinater.h, probably some cyclic includes happened.
    Thanks
    Jack
  22. Re: Compiler Error C2512: 'Coordinater' : no appropriate default constructor availabl

    Hello laserlight,
    the member variables in the Coordinater class are:

    class Coordinater {
    public:
    Coordinater();
    void reset();
    int getDepth();
    bool iterate();
  23. Compiler Error C2512: 'Coordinater' : no appropriate default constructor available

    Not sure why because I have defined my default constructor.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks a lot

  24. What design pattern should I go for if I want to "sort of" convert the interface?
