    Re: Debugging problem

    Re: Variables declared in Windows loop

    So if I understand it well, the compiler knows that they are there and only going to allocate them once.

    Re: InvalidateRect

    Ah, OK I get it now!

    I had to calculate the 25 from the 100, so its 100+25.

    Thank you Victor, I thought I would have never understood it. :)

    Re: InvalidateRect

    My 'top left' of the rectangle that I'm invalidating is actually the bottom left?

    Then how come it writes to the right place when you move a window over it?

    Re: Variables declared in Windows loop

    So its best to declare them in the "case" that uses them.

    I think globals are bad in a large program where you use them in different places. In a small program it doesnt really matter.

    Re: InvalidateRect

    I think the coords are OK because if I do this it will write to the same place.

    TextOut(hdc, 20, 100, buf, strlen(buf));
    TextOut(hdc, rText.left, rText.top, "ccccccccccc", 10);

    Re: Variables declared in Windows loop

    Thanks a lot for the explanation!

    So it's OK if I stop declaring them there and just declare them as globals instead?

    Variables declared in Windows loop

    I see variables declared even in professional code outside of the switch() message loop inside WndProc.

    It means that they are declared at least 100 times a second again and again.

    Ignoring unknown option /LIBPATH:dir

    On MSDN it says /LIBPATH:dir is the switch to add additional lib path.

    In the cl.exe --help there is no such a switch.

    And when I use /LIBPATH:C: I get D9002 'Ignoring unknown option' error.

    Re: Clicking treeview item

    Yes, TreeView_HitTest is the way to go. There is even a pointer to the item clicked: lpht.hItem.

    Thank you very much for both of you! :)

    Re: Clicking treeview item

    I would like to use this solution as it seems to be the simplest but the problem is that you wont get TVN_SELCHANGED message if you click the same item again since the item is still selected.
