In any case, you'll have to map the string values to the constant values. There's not anyway the compiler converts the name of an identifier to the string value.

That is what I am saying. But you have to keep in mind that Jan has 31 days, Feb 28 (if not leap) and 29 (if leap) and so on when subtracting the dates.

Get these integers by getting substrings from the string (dd/mm/yyyy) you have
int days = dd;
int months = mm;
int years = yyyy;
