    Well hello Alias and welcome to code guru. You're just said hello to us all :)

    That's real good! :thumb: I hadn't seem something like that before. Some one's university project no doubt!

    Re: AVL tree

    If you know the rules of constructing an AVL tree and you know how to apply appropriate rotation recursively across the tree, then you know how to create a correct AVL tree. If you are not generating...
  4. Re: adding rational number using only class functions

    Yes, as the code is written it could be an issue, but consider

    void drawPolygon(const std::vector<Point>& points)
    {
    for (size_t i = 1, n = points.size(); i < n; ++i) {
    ...

    Re: AVL tree

    Basically an AVL tree is a binary tree where the difference in heights of a node's subtrees are no more than 1. If this height difference exceeds 1 by either insertion or deletion then the subtrees...

    Re: Program Language ?

    Used for what? This looks like a normal text file written in an .ini format. It could have been generated using several languages - either directly or using appropriate Windows API functions.

    What...

    Re: [del..............]

    Of what type is grid?

    Note that using a negative index into a 'normal' array is not by itself an error. Eg

    #include <iostream>
    using namespace std;

    int main()

    wc.hCursor = LoadCursor(hInstance, IDC_ARROW);

    Try

    wc.hCursor = LoadCursor(NULL, IDC_ARROW);
  9. Re: adding rational number using only class functions

    That has always been my take on this (though I was starting to really question this after reading previous posts) and what I was trying to advocate (clumsily) way back in post #4 and since - and yes,...

    Re: Emptying CString

    If the underlying problem is memory corruption, then adding/changing some lines of code that doesn't directly address the problem (and which can be justified to have fixed the problem) is unlikely to...

    Re: Trouble with C And Windows Runtime

    What can you do in c that you can't in c++?
  13. Re: adding rational number using only class functions

    Yeah, you shouldn't mix signed and unsigned. :o

    Re: Check a Point lies in a Line segment

    Agreed. It was really only simple proof of concept code without error checking. Similar divide by zero error is also in the OP code in post #1.

    Shouldn't the distance formula be
    abs( (y2 - y1)*x...

  16. Re: adding rational number using only class functions

    Rational::Rational()
    {
    int denom = 1;
    char sign = '+';
    }

    No! denom and sign are local variables to the constructor. Try

    Re: Check a Point lies in a Line segment

    To determine if a point lies on a line, the slope of the point to a known point on the line must be the same slope as that of two known points on the line. In this case the known points on the line...

    Re: Troubleshooting high CPU spikes

    Do you have the file pccntmon.exe on the computer anywhere?
  20. Re: adding rational number using only class functions

    Yes, but I meant that the values of the pass-by-value parameters are not 'accidentally' changed in the function causing a run-time logic error. :)

    eg

    void array(int arr[], const int size)
    {...

    Re: Trying to RegisterWindowmessage

    What is the return value of RegisterWindowMessage()? If this is zero then the function didn't succeed.

    Re: Trying to RegisterWindowmessage

    The WM_HWM in wndproc() is not the same WM_HWM in winmain()! Replace

    #define WM_HWM (WM_USER + HARDWARE_EXTERNAL_SIGNAL)

    with

    UNIT WM_HWM;
