  1. Re: Runtime error R6025 - pure virtual function call

    Yes. That's it. Thanks.
  2. Re: Runtime error R6025 - pure virtual function call

    That may be, but the only code I changed was that suggested by Ovi above and that fixed the problem in VS 2013. So far, so good. It was never a problem in VS 2010 which puzzles me.
  3. Re: Runtime error R6025 - pure virtual function call

    Not certain what code you want. Here's the code that triggers the assertion violation:

    wfstream wf;
    codecvt_utf16<wchar_t, 0x10ffff, little_endian> ccvt(1);
    locale...

    Re: 3d vector

    Thank you for your very helpful, clear and informative responses. I think I have a much better understanding of the problem now.

    Re: 3d vector

    How would one code such a triple indexing operator? If I knew how to do that, I could figure out how to produce a 3D (or any d) vector from the above approach.
  6. Re: Runtime error R6025 - pure virtual function call

    Thank you Ovi. Your solution gets rid of my problem. But I don't understand what calling a pure virtual function has to do with the locale facet reference counter. Also, why does the same code run...
  7. Re: Runtime error R6025 - pure virtual function call

    Thanks for your response, Victor. I've looked at those links but don't find them helpful. They simply restate the obvious - you have called a pure virtual function so find it and fix it. But why...
  8. Runtime error R6025 - pure virtual function call

    Many of the MFC apps that I developed in VS 2010, when I port them to VS 2013 (Community), they will often compile without error but generate this runtime error:

    Now all of these compile and...

    Re: 3d vector

    This is a more interesting question than it first appears to be. Below I have used 2 classes, the second of which is a 3 dimensional vector. Notice that both methods work, however, the second...

    Re: Switch from txt to rtf during runtime

    Here's how to implement loading of either text or rtf files using CRichEditView and CRichEditDoc:

    Set in the document class ctor: m_bRTF = TRUE; (default) to implement rtf serialization

    Re: 3d vector

    I've used this in some 3D graphics implementations:

    class CPoint3D
    {
    public:
    float x, y, z;
    CPoint3D () { x=y=z=0; }
    CPoint3D (float c1, float c2, float c3)

    Re: Switch from txt to rtf during runtime

    I have built a math/statistical editor. This editor is an intermediate app that sends calculated results via a dll parser to an output application. I would like the USER to be able to use ANY...

    Switch from txt to rtf during runtime

    While running a Doc/View SDI, is there any way to switch from text mode to rtf mode during runtime? Search reveals nothing.

    Say I have an editor and I want the app to use text, I can set the...
  14. Re: Need help fixing faulty CScrollView zoom

    Victor! Once again, you've done it - solved the problem completely ! I'm not sure if you did it deliberately or not, but by simply removing CenterWindow() from the OnZoomIn() function, the problem...
  15. [RESOLVED] Need help fixing faulty CScrollView zoom

    I have been unable to solve this problem. An SDI CScrollView app displays a displaced view with double set of scroll bars when user zooms window. This can be corrected by iconizing, then restoring...
  16. Re: How to change the client area icon during runtime

    Never mind. I think I've found the answer on How to Change the Mouse Pointer? Only good answer from an obscure blog of Asian origin - MSDN should hire them.

  17. Re: How to change the client area icon during runtime

    Sorry for the confusion between icon and cursor. MY BAD. Trying to follow GCDEF post, I have attempted to override the View::SetCursor function as suggested by MSDN (see:...

    Re: Problem deleting HBITMAP object

    I thought I'd solved all the problems, but then I discovered that the button(s) look rather different on different OS s, even though the button(s) and tooltips are OK. The current demo app was...

    Re: Problem deleting HBITMAP object

    Thanks once again. It appears that as long as one uses CBitmap instead of BITMAP, it should take care of itself.

    Re: Problem deleting HBITMAP object

    You are absolutely correct. Thank you for your kind help. One other issue - at some point should the object be deleted? If so, where in the code - perhaps OnDestroy() ?

    Problem deleting HBITMAP object

    I have a little demo of a bitmap button that simply uses CButton and resource bitmaps in an MFC dialog app. The intent is to click on the button and have the bitmap image change. My code works ok...
  22. Re: Need help allocatig memory for vectorized 2D array

    I wonder how one could test for integrity of contiguousness of memory allocation for a given object?
  23. Re: Need help allocatig memory for vectorized 2D array

    There seems to be some differing opinions on whether or not std::vector stores elements in contiguous memory. I found this interesting post.

  24. Re: Need help allocatig memory for vectorized 2D array

    Thanks Philip. That seems to solve the problem.

    I have heard this comment before regarding C arrays. However, if this algorithm allows for accessing values by index, that's really all that...
  25. Need help allocatig memory for vectorized 2D array

    I want to be able to dynamically allocate and index an array like the following: vv2d[1][2].x and vv2d[1][2].y. In order to accomplish that I have chosen to use a std::vector of a std::vector of a...
