    Re: Help with Keylog Imposible to make.

    Yes - agreed.

    There are ethical and legal issues surrounding use of key loggers. That is why you won't find much help from the 'white' forums.

    Please see http://forums.codeguru.com/showthread.php?366302-Visual-C-General-Can-you-help-me-with-my-homework-assignment

  4. Re: How can I get my client to wait to open a file until my server has made it?

    I'm not a unix/linux programmer so there may be a better way of doing it on your system - but an 'easy' way would be that if the open failed to then sleep for say a second and then retry the open....
  5. Re: pointer-to-member array crashes with virtual inheritance

    Compiles and runs without any errors reported under VS2013 & VS2012. Just because it runs without a crash doesn't mean the program is correct though.

    What compiler are you using?
  6. Re: declaring member variables in a windows form app

    This is c++/cli - or managed c++ - which is different to c++, so you should post your question on the managed c++ forum here http://forums.codeguru.com/forumdisplay.php?17-Managed-C-and-C-CLI

    Re: how to create a new file

    Unless otherwise specified, files are opened/created in the current working directory.

    Also you are not checking that the file has been opened/created successfully.

    Re: Erase part of the string

    You can't have a start of end and and an end of begin! You need to use rbegin and rend which starts from the end of he string and goes backwards as opposed to begin and end which start from the begin...

    Re: Erase part of the string

    The program I posted in my post #13 based upon yours compiles under VS2013 - but it doesn't work as you expected.

    temp[i] = s[j];

    You are trying to reference the ith element of temp when temp...

    Re: Erase part of the string

    I think you mean

    ss.insert(0, 1, s3[0]);

    1st param is position, 2nd is number to insert and 3rd is character to insert. See http://www.cplusplus.com/reference/string/string/insert/

    Re: Erase part of the string

    As you are not referencing the stl classes by their namespace, you need

    using namespace std;

    after the includes - or use

    std::string ss;

    Re: Erase part of the string

    In c++11, when the first argument to .insert is an iterator, then .insert() returns an iterator (except when using an initializer list). This is slightly different in c++98. See...

    Re: doublt linked list and basic text editor

    Node<List_entry> *set_position(int position) const;

    .....

    void List<List_entry>::set_position(int position) const

    Spot the difference!

    Similarly for run_command.

    Re: Erase part of the string

    Under VS2013

    int main()
    {
    string s1 = "***carr***";

    cout << s1 << endl;
  19. Re: Some Simple Questions and Suggestions

    scanf(" %s", movie);

    NO. NO, NO. NO, NO, NO You NEVER do this. If you must use scanf() to read a string then you ALWAYS specify a field width as stated by laserlight in post #13. As your buffer is...

    Re: Erase part of the string

    s1.insert(s1.end(),3,'.');

    This will indeed add 3 dots to the end of the string s1. But .insert doesn't return an object that can be assigned to a type string. See See...

    Re: Erase part of the string

    The first number is the index value into the string for the first char to be erased - which starts at 0 not 1! The second is the number of chars to be erased from this position. See...

    Umm. There's a lot of info on the web about how to solve this and how to program a solution in various languages.
  23. Re: [RESOLVED] c++ - GDIPLUS: how compare colors?

    I would be very, very wary about modifying 3rd party include files. What if you want to provide your code to another developer - they would also need to modify the include files. What about if new...

    Re: ceil function name collision.

    Ceil() takes either a float or a double and returns either a float or a double. See http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh308218.aspx. Try

    ceil((double)(4.0 / gallerycols)) * 2 *...
  25. Re: This guy adds another new std::vector container to itself
