  1. Re: [RESOLVED] Looking for suggestions for class design for datagridview datasource

    UPDATE: I just discovered this actually does not solve my problem although at first I thought it did. But it was still pretty useful because in the process of figuring out why it doesn’t solve my...
  2. Re: [RESOLVED] Looking for suggestions for class design for datagridview datasource

    Right which solves my binding problem because BindingSource will only bind to properties not fields, so when the compiler creates it as a private field that hides it from the binding source. Makes...
  3. Re: Looking for suggestions for class design for datagridview datasource

    This is great - this is exactly what I was hoping to learn to be able to do.

    I am still not exactly sure how it works - but it works great. So using private getters prevents the property from...
  4. Re: Looking for suggestions for class design for datagridview datasource

    How do I prevent those new public properties from showing up in the datagridview when I use a list of this as the bound datasource? I am binding to the list of clsTest, which as I understand it...
  5. [RESOLVED] Looking for suggestions for class design for datagridview datasource

    I have a ton of data that I want to present in a dataGridView. The columns change from time to time. So I am using a List<Class> datasource to bind to the datagridview to help manage all of this, and...
  6. Re: [RESOLVED] Imported C# DLL in C++ project - left of '.ToString' must have class/s

    Thanks Wolle, that was it.
  7. Re: Imported C# DLL in C++ project - left of '.ToString' must have class/struct/union

    I am using Visual C++ & C# 2019 v142 with /clr enabled in both projects. I am using .NET 4.7.2.
  8. [RESOLVED] Imported C# DLL in C++ project - left of '.ToString' must have class/struct/union

    I have a project needing simultaneous access to 2 different APIs. One API library is only available in C++ and the other in C#. I am building the main project in C++ and importing the C# DLL. Right...
  9. Re: Visual C++ 2019 afxres.rc not including afxres.h for some reason

    This did it. By renaming the "extra" copy of the file and disabling the header guard in the file, it now builds without changing the official files.
  10. Re: Visual C++ 2019 afxres.rc not including afxres.h for some reason

    I would probably need to disable the "guard" code in the wrong one as well, correct?
  11. Re: Visual C++ 2019 afxres.rc not including afxres.h for some reason

    Yes you are correct, there is. The sample code has its own copy of afxres.h that leaves out all the definitions. How do I handle that? It only has a few lines as follows, the "real" afxres.h has...
  12. Re: Visual C++ 2019 afxres.rc not including afxres.h for some reason

    I will search for that
  13. Re: Visual C++ 2019 afxres.rc not including afxres.h for some reason

    OK thanks so that is not the problem. I did try removing the copied definitions and commenting out the header guard in both the .rc and the .h file and get the same error. So it does not seem to be a...
  14. Re: Visual C++ 2019 afxres.rc not including afxres.h for some reason

    Yes, it is the first line. It has a qualifier that I commented out. However it looks like the entire rc file only gets used if __AFXRES_RC__ is not defined. It looks like the #endif for that first...
  15. [RESOLVED] Visual C++ 2019 afxres.rc not including afxres.h for some reason

    I have some C++ MFC projects - sample code - that compile as-is under 2013 but fail to compile as-is under 2019. The errors (RC2104) are all about undefined constants, that are defined in afxres.h,...
