    Re: Button Command issue

Where is the while(true) called? What causes the while loop to exit during a success?
  2. Re: Shared Memory to make objects of an application persistent?

Another approach might be to go with a layered architecture and rather than having your http-server access the database, you might consider moving the data access into a web service pool (with...
  3. Re: Why delegate can't be defined within a function?

Because you are doing something wrong. Larry, are you intentionally trying to post the most undetailed, ambiguous questions?
  4. Re: Calling a DLL written in VC++.NET Native Code from a VB.NET project

I installed VB6 without any issue on Win7 64bit (as mentioned you have to run the setup program as an administrator).

Post the solution back, so that others can benefit from what you've discovered.

Re: Strange errors in Visual Studio 2010

No it isn't, unless you have the express version.

Re: Strange errors in Visual Studio 2010

    In Visual Studio

    2) Select the file.
    3) Next to the Open button click on the down arrow.
    4) Choose "Open With".
    5) Select "Binary Editor"
    6) Click "OK"

Re: A question regarding passing a reference

Now you need to read up on what setting an object to null in C# does (or doesn't do).

Re: A question regarding passing a reference

Where did you read that anything other than POD (plain old data) objects are passed by value in C#?

Re: Why MSDN is not documenting everything?

The days where msdn was the authority has long since passed. In my opinion, when members of MS decided to put info into blogs rather than msdn documentation, it was down hill from there.

  14. Re: Recent Windows update breaks app installation

Well, if you don't file it, then you're relying on someone else filing a bug. Hopefully, someone will report the issue.
  15. Re: LINQ query to remove a single value from a set while retaining another value

Try (because I haven't tested it):

    Re: Enum Usability

I'm not following. If you are making a comparison, then you need to write the logic to make the comparison. You'll will still need an if statement or switch statement for the comparison (I'm not...

    Re: Enum Usability

Sure. Keep in mind that if you are using flags, you need to mark the enum with the [Flags] attribute and set each enum entry's value as 2's compliment (0,1,2,4,8,16, etc.). Then you can write code...

    Re: Enum Usability

If you have a fixed number of items that don't change very often the enums are great. If you use them as flags with the [Flags] attribute, you can pass a single variable to a method rather than...

+1 Yeah Larry, why ask a question when a couple of minutes in a debugger will tell you everything?

    Re: Google Speech Api-V2 problems

What google api are you calling? What does the documentation tell you? Does the api return data in JSON?
  25. Re: How to fix error... does not contain a definition ChangePassword

After you get more experience, you might find that looking in the object browser is a last resort. Use msdn first for a starting point to unfamiliar classes and bing or google for other details.
