    No...cant do that as the clipboard could contain data. Are you sure the clipboard even holds the drag data?...and remember no OLE events fire.

    I say again...what is the OLEDragmode property...

    Setting the Readonly property, doesn't prevent the Copying of contents...only the moving...my hopes were to completely prevent copying or moving from the RTB, but i cant use the ReadOnly property...

    No can do with the readonly(I presume you mean rtb.locked) as the control has to accept keyboard input.

    The code in the mouseup event is not necessary and you can eliminate the moving flag with a case statement in the mousemove event. Only the pt variable is needed in the mousemove event.

    TranslateColor does not affect output shade as originally thought. I was using two RTBs and one was placed higher on my LCD screen, causing the green shade to appear different.

    I am unable to set the background color of an RTB using sendmessage.
    I have tried everything I can think of, but it always displays "pea green".

    DG: i never said i had an empty RTB, not sure why you thought this. But BTW, an empty RTB can have a fontsize set of the next character that is going to be typed! There can be conditions in an RTB...
