    Re: win32 - how can i build a Region?

    No. What is killing you is your desire to go with both, transparency and no flicker. You should be logical, and first solve the transparency issue, and then go for no flicker thing. Which means,...
  2. Re: Little/Big Endian test code in machine and file

    Well, at least SQLite states:
  3. Re: c++ injection does not work on windows 8.1

    Afraid your DllMain does not return TRUE which makes Windows believe the loading has failed.
  4. Re: c++ injection does not work on windows 8.1

    I absolutely understood what you're trying to do, and that's why I recommended what I recommended. So far your dll is not prepared for being injected. Please read this twice. Until you get it realy...
  5. Re: c++ injection does not work on windows 8.1

    No, you create a console app that just loads your dll with LoadLibrary, in a separate thread. This is what your injector instructs the remote app to do. You return back to injecting stuff only when...
  6. Re: c++ injection does not work on windows 8.1

    This is not what I recommended:

    And definitely I was talking about C/C++ app letting you debug native code.

    See my previous messages:
  7. Re: c++ injection does not work on windows 8.1

    When it is about dll injection, I would recommend to debug the dll behavior somewhere in more friendly environment first, like a dummy process just loading the dll in a separate thread imitating your...

    Re: Integer Range

    #include <windows.h>
    #include <stdio.h>

    int main()
    {
    __int64 i64 = 5000000000;
    long long ll = 6000000000;

    printf("i64 (%li) = %I64i\n", sizeof(i64), i64);
    printf(" ll...
  9. Re: c++ injection does not work on windows 8.1

    No intention to offend, absolutely, but could you be more realistic? Code injection requires from you quite a good knowledge of Windows OS principles, Win32 API details and being good at programming...

    Re: ZLIB Linker Errors

    Definitely I did. Your first post was about unresolved external symbols from zlib. I don't see how this could be connected with the absence of msvc90. Nevertheless, whatever it was, I glad you solved...

    Re: ZLIB Linker Errors

    When you want to link with external dll, you actually link with import library properly made for the dll. Otherwise you have to manually resolve at runtime any symbol in use.
  12. Re: c++ injection does not work on windows 8.1

    You never test the results of any call in InjectDLL. When you do, you tell us what was wrong.
  13. Re: Switch from txt to rtf during runtime

    This is what I was going to ask next. :) What's the purpose of that switching? In case the original data is RTF-formatted, and the task is just to switch between representations in "view" at runtime,...
  14. Re: Switch from txt to rtf during runtime

    Why not? A richer data always can be transformed to its simpler version.
  15. Re: Switch from txt to rtf during runtime

    Well, my understanding is that "document" in document-view model is not exactly the document saved in some format. Instead, it is just a bunch of data to be interpreted and presented by view. Based...
  16. Re: Internet Explorer displays a blank page when opening a local file while screen is

    The report may be generated whenever you want. You have an issue with report showing, not generation. Arjay suggested you the same approach as I did before: generate html at 8:30AM, but do not run...
  17. Re: Internet Explorer displays a blank page when opening a local file while screen is

    The next round of your being curious would be figuring out the behavior of all available IE versions on all Windows platforms, right? I don't think so. :)
  18. Re: Internet Explorer displays a blank page when opening a local file while screen is

    I would suggest you to schedule not IE launch, but a little special proxy program that would catch mouse moves and keyboard input (low level hooks would do that alright), and on the very first user...
  19. Re: win32 - how copy the parent background?

    I don't get it.

    What parent's brush has to do with parent's background or DC?
    What does that mean that DC is a green brush, but you get a white one?

    As I said before, you have to...

    Re: Restarting of the thread.

    Windows does not provide any API for doing that, i.e. Windows won't do it for you. Your thread code must implement everything that is required for "restarting" itself.
  21. Re: win32 - how copy the parent background?

    Your code seems doing that right.

    And now, what is the result? And what makes you think it's not "the parent background"?
  22. Re: win32 - how copy the parent background?

    So this is just a painted DC area. And why do you keep calling it a background? Mentioning background you must imply there a foreground should be, while it's not. Device Context does not tell...
  23. Re: win32 - how copy the parent background?

    Let's start solving this with answering this simple question: what do you think the window background is?
  24. Re: How to get the text of an "EDIT" control from another thread?

    It depends on what control data required by worker is. You may deal with quite a loaded list, but your interest is in a label of single selected item, or just its index. In case of multi-selection,...
  25. Re: How to get the text of an "EDIT" control from another thread?

    Of course yes, all controls do that. There are so called "old school" controls, like edit box, list box, combo box, button, static, those ones act like I just demonstrated, sending...
