    The VB6 programming language runs on Windows 10 too

    The VB6 runtime and IDE work on the Windows 10 technical preview. 'They' keep telling us VB6 won't be supported with the next release of Windows and yet VB6 programming just carries on.

    All we know at the moment is that Microsoft say VB6 programming will be supported until 'at least' 2024. That may imply it will be supported beyond then, but Microsoft aren't saying.

    1)Right click on Setup.exe and choose Run as administrator with XP SP3 compatibility

    No you don't need to use a VM.
    I've installed the VB6 IDE on Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 without any problem. Great for keeping VB6 programming current.

    Remember to install as an administrator...

    You can install and run the VB6 IDE on Windows 7 and 8.x.
    VB6 programming is fine under Windows 7/8 32 bit or 64 bit.

    That isn't untypical. But with additional work you may be able to get closer to the VB6 speed. Remember VB6 uses the C++ compiler and so can be difficult to match in speed.
