Can anyone explain to me how to get a list of the active processes on a computer?
What I need to do is check for a specific process to see if it's running on the system.
So ... I suppose...

Well, the title pretty much says it all :)
When I have loaded a savefile with Serialize, is there some way of telling the name of the currently loaded savefile?
Thank you in advance!

Wauw, thank you!
I was not aware it was possible to do that.
That's really great!

I currently have a program where, by either pressing Ctrl+N or by going to "File->New" in the menu a new file is prompted.
However, there are cases in my program where I would also like the...

Ok, I've tried that with
CButton* pButton = (CButton*)GetDlgItem(IDC_BUTTON1);

I'm trying to create a dialog where some of the buttons have pictures on them, rather than plain text.
Is it possible to do that?
I notice that under the button's properties, under...

My apologies for posting this here, but I can't think of another place to get independent advice.
I'm looking for a licensing system for my software.
Something that's easy to use...
It's working again!
Ok, I've figured out the cause of the problem ... but now the solution.
Because I need to know when my mouse is leaving the screen, in CMyProgramView I'm applying SetCapture() whenever the capture...

As of recently my software no longer recognizes the Ctrl+S command for saving a file anymore.
The ::Serialize part of the code is no longer reached.
Not only that, but not even the...

Ok, I've tried the AlphaBlend function, but it unfortunately does not allow me to paint semi-transparent bitmaps with the use of alpha channels. It can only make the whole bitmap transparent, but not...

I've just tried creating such a 32 bit bitmap with Adobe Illustrator and so far the alpha channel does not appear to be working for me.
I'm using pDC->BitBlt(x,y,width,height,memdc,0,0,SRCCOPY) to...

I need to draw pictures that are both semi-transparant and have shade and are drawn over different (changing) backgrounds.
Now, I cán paste bitmaps with masks and after that fill in...

Is there any way of drawing text on a View using pDC->DrawText(CString,CRect,0) or some other text draw operation that ONLY draws the text but leaves the background?
Thanks in advance!

And ... I just realized I read something about this a couple of years ago.
Funny how these things always come to me AFTER I ask.
Never mind :)

I need to know when the mouse pointer has left the window.
The function ::OnMouseMove only works if the pointer is within it.
It unfortunately stops working once it's outside the confines of the...

In a CView, is there some way of telling that the mouse has left the screen?

CMenu* menu = GetMenu();
in CMainFrame::OnCreate does the trick!
November 14th, 2011, 05:27 AM
Is there some way of not showing a menu item?
So for example, in the pic below, let's say I want to remove Edit from the menu, without actually deleting it:

Ah, never mind.
Sorry for the trouble.
Whether to draw the toolbar or not can be set in CMainFrame, which contains the toolbar.
It needs to be set in CMainFrame::OnCreate

From the .rc file, where it says:
IDR_MAINFRAME TOOLBAR DISCARDABLE 18, 17

Is there some way of removing the toolbar from your program after you've created it?
I added it when creating the software long ago but now I'd like to do without it.

Problem is that I'm not passing such a directory at all.
Serialize is just the standard function that's used by visual C++, which, after having been added by the wizard looks like:

Yes, but how do I, after I've read from the registry what directory was used last time, set the directory to that one?
And by the same logic, how do I know which directory is currently used so I can...
