Hi, I'm using the Winsock OCX in VB6 to create a personal file server application, and it transfer files perfectly within the LAN, but not the Internet.

Thanks, I also found other simple webserver examples with Winsock and I noticed that it's almost the same functions for implementing it with the CSocketPlus.

Hi, I'm currently using the CSocketPlus control for sending simple POST requests into a PHP server, and I want to create a small HTTP server for serving pages and files on the client side.
I have a table in which items are constantly added with a date and time indicator, but I need to retrieve from it only the last 100 items added.
Any help will be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Hi, I wonder if someone knows of any unicode-ready ListView or similar list control to use with foreign languages.
Of course being robbed by the guys from unitoolbox is not an option since I am...

I'm using MySQL and phpMyAdmin with tables and collation using the UTF8_bin encoding. I'm storing strings from a webpage form with PHP, with the UTF8 charset content-type specification.

Hi, I'm receiving reports of a program that uses msimg32.dll, which on some systems shows a run time error 48: File not found, while the file is present at the Windows\System32 directory.

Happy holidays everyone!!
VB keeps me busy on holidays, christmas, hanukkah and even the Chinese new year. :)

Thanks, but it seems I didn't explain myself correctly. Neither of the functions posted worked.
Let's suppose I have a system color constant such as vbWindowBackground that I want to convert to...

How can I convert a color constant (such as vbWindowBackground) to RGB? The method I'm now using (see below) only works with colors retrieved from a CommonDialog color dialog selector.

Hi, I need to check if a certain process started by ShellExecute is still running or not.
Before replying, notice why I use ShellExecute:
-The Shell command doesn't work well with long path names...

But there should be a more effective way since I already have the decrypted strings... brute force would take long otherwise.
October 30th, 2006, 01:44 PM
I have several phrases encrypted and decrypted with the same password, and what I need is to found the password used to encrypt them.
If anyone has an idea on how to implement this, or get an...

Firefox is an exception. Open any Flash content on FF and your CPU usage will reach the top instantly.
Just disable the flash active x component and you'll have the nice GIF ads back.
August 25th, 2006, 12:29 AM
Well I disabled the Shockwave Flash activex from the "Manage add-ons" list and problem's gone. :)
The loss of Flash is not big deal since I only use IE for CG and MSDN. (MSDN pages are better...

There is no Close method
Microsoft suggest you use the Set myXdoc = Nothing when finished with it.

Thanks, but I keep having the same problem. I noticed my IP numbers are actually of type Double, not Long.... any ideas how to deal with this?
August 23rd, 2006, 04:39 PM
I have a list of IP numbers in the Long format, and this function is supposed to convert them to the string format (x.x.x.x)
However the function only converts up to certain value, so is not...

In IE, either by opening one or more windows. In Firefox, opening a single tab can cause a crash as well.
Of course in Firefox I only use 1 window... that's the idea behind it. :)

Actually that's for HTML only... the XML section at MSDN can be found here:

Using any of the msxml.dll versions provided by IE.
August 22nd, 2006, 04:04 PM
I don't think FireFox is aware of the MSXML library... and if it is, surely it won't use it anyway.
Even the most basic XSL pattern will fail in FireFox, so just keep the error message and provide...
