    Re: IE6 source code

I have seen one demo here http://codexpert.ro/blog/2014/02/02/multiple-view-file-explorer/. :)
Well, you can easily make tabbed views in an MFC application if have at least Visual C++ 2008 SP1 (or...

    Re: IE6 source code

It's not much useful to have the IE (or other browser, open-source or not) source code, except if you are effectively developing it.
More practical is to use its interfaces (which are documented) to...

Re: User Callback & CResource Exception

One additional remark, regarding your code.
It is not necessary to handle WM_PAINT or WM_ERASEBKGND message for changing the dialog's background color.
A better way is to handle WM_CTLCOLOR.

Re: User Callback & CResource Exception

The standard way to hide the "Help" button in a property sheet is to remove PSH_HASHELP and PSP_HASHELP from PROPSHEETHEADER structure (contained in CPropertySheet) and PROPSHEETPAGE structure...
  7. Re: how send the class pointer with SetTimer()?

As a good PM may think "if the task says 'create a timer', then focus on the task and write a timer and nothing more".
As a good developer may think a little bit beyond: "is this enough or must do...
  8. Re: how send the class pointer with SetTimer()?

    How else? :)

    KISS as well:

// Somewhere in my CMyWindow message handler
    m_nCallbackTimer = SetTimer(nIDEvent, uElapse, &CMyWindow::MyTimerProc);

    Mission accomplished, but don't simply...

Re: User Callback & CResource Exception

    Whoau, that scares me! :)

This case is easier to make your own PropertySheet and PropertyPage classes. But still needs a lot of sweat...
Why don't you follow the standard UI?
  11. Re: how send the class pointer with SetTimer()?

...and probably, we have to further choose a solid C++ interface over Windows message queue (and so on, and so on), eventually by using at least three patterns from "Architect's Little Red Book". :)

You can find attached here a simple demo project that uses a property sheet in wizard mode.

Re: User Callback & CResource Exception

Looks like a property sheet in wizard mode: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/bb774538(v=vs.85).aspx#propsheet_wizards.
If using MFC, that can be easily made with...

Re: User Callback & CResource Exception

    I kindly did it.
But your code is enough shuffled (calls message handlers from message handlers, calls SetTimer from DoDataExchange, creates dialogs when handling WM_TIMER, etc.) and the program...

Probably, the word "inbuilt" used here is not very clear for me. :)
So let me try do detail a little bit by quoting from MSDN:

  16. Re: how send the class pointer with SetTimer()?

    @Codeplug
You defined about five classes and wrote over one hundred lines of code just for dealing with ::SetTimer, ::KillTimer and a callback procedure.
IMHO, that's too much and breaks the KISS...

Have a look at Redistribution of the shared C runtime component in Visual C++.

    Re: XML Parsing

One option is to use XmlLite which is quite easy. (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/ms752872(v=vs.85).aspx).
    See also XmlLite Samples.
  19. Re: how send the class pointer with SetTimer()?

Sorry for being late in this thread!
My short answer to this question is: it has no much sense to write a Timer class.
Closer to the Windows native architecture is to write a Window base class...

Re: How to debug Win32 Message Loop?

    Beside that is already answered

You can put a conditional breakpoint in the message loop, e.g. having the condition msg.message == 0x0201, where 0x0201 is the value of WM_LBUTTONDOWN.
    However,...
