I did this in the past by using the card driver dll, they usually have some function that provides that info.

Where are you learning MFC? Most books come with a CD-ROM these days which will have excercises or a link to a website.

Looks like you are passing the focus onto the window of the activeX control when you click on it and it doesn't support mousemove or it doesnt pass that on to the main message pump.
