  1. Re: Memory leak detection tool with Windows7 64 bit Visual Studio

As AlexF says it's enough to call CrtSetDbgFlag in main to get leakage information. If you wan't to get more information (such as allocation line of code) you have to do the other stuff he mentions

Re: Makefile options to compile for 64 bit

-m64 should be sufficient if you have a multilib (that contains standard libs in both 32/64 bits) gcc installed

    Re: Windows 8

Ah, well I don't have a MSDN subscription. My employer think it's too expensive... :(

The reason I used sysprep was that I built a new machine and didn't want all temporaries and other junk to...

    Re: Windows 8

Can you elaborate that a bit?

If possible I prefer not to have to make a complete reinstall.

    Re: Windows 8

I'm still happy about Win8 but since I did the mistake using sysprep to move /users to another drive, well I'm not 100% happy anymore. Has anybody found a way (except a full reinstall) of making 8.1...

  8. Re: How to continue my programming development(evolution, growth whatever)

As Laserlight say, books aren't enough, you absolutely have to do something yourself as well. Reading a lot of books will help you pass the interview questions but what good is that if you don't meet...

    Re: #warning

That MSDN link doesn't say anything about other VC versions and normally they do.
Also note that the #warning statement is in the J++ section . Maybe it was a mistake that it worked in VC...

Yes localtime is returning the local time :)
If you don't want that use gmtime instead.

  14. Re: Compiling blender with mingw64 / mingw32-make.exe

Since your code doesn't build a debugger session isn't possible. If it build's, use gdb (make sure to compile with debug flags) to debug it.
  15. Re: Debugging a C# program that launches a Cygwin application

If teLeap.exe successfully starts from a windows shell (cmd.exe) it should be possible to run it from the debugger as well. Have you restarted MSVC after updating the environment?
  16. Re: Debugging a C# program that launches a Cygwin application

If the application you try to debug is built with something else than MSVC you can't debug it in MSVC (unless that other thing really is MSVC compatible). Or more correct, you might be able to debug...

  18. Re: writing and reading bytes - a Visual Studio issue ?

I think Codeplug nailed it. Single stepping the code into CRT shows that 0xFFFF is the wide EOF character so your workaround isn't the way to go.

After the upgrade I now get all new posts marked as "The threads below have not been updated since your last visit but still contain unread posts.". Even brand new threads are marked as that.
