The ListView has the possibility to autosize the column based on the content of it with the "LVSCW_AUTOSIZE" flag.
However the "Header Control" that is used by ListCtrl/ListView does not...

    Re: Double/wavy underline

    Hi,

This is unfortunate. I was hoping that there some way to make it work from the "font" perspective, just like in GTK+/Cocoa. :(

Do you have any example how do I achieve such functionality....

    Double/wavy underline

    Hi, ALL,
This implies that this is not possible with standard Windows API and I have to do it myself. Is this true?
If yes - can someone give a hint on how to do it?

    This functionality is...
  6. Re: What is the correct behavior of list control?

    Hi, Victor,

I'm not asking to test it - I'm asking what should be the most logical outcome of such algorythm.

    Thank you.'
  7. What is the correct behavior of list control?

    Hi, ALL,
There is a list control in Windows.
When I create a list control I can assign an image list to it with the ListView_SetImageList().
By default, when just created there is no image list...

Why MSDN is not documenting everything?

    Hi, ALL,
This link explains everything, but it does not tell whether this message is sent for both single- and multiple selection modes or just with single-selection.

I mean this is MSDN -...

    ImageList question

    Hi, ALL,
An ImageList_Create() function (see here) takes 2 parameters: cx and cy which are the width and height of each image.

Everything is good if I know in advance what size my images will...

Re: Force OnMeasureItem() call on a ListBox

    Hi,

The point is that I'm not sure if CDC::GetTextExtent and ::GetTextExtentPoint32() are the same thing, i.e. one is a direct wrapper around the other. ;-)

Well, I don't. In the list box...

Re: Force OnMeasureItem() call on a ListBox

    Hi,

You are talking MFC, I speak WinAPI ;-)
Did I reference a proper function above? Or maybe I can use GetTextMetrics()?

    Thank you.

Re: Force OnMeasureItem() call on a ListBox

Also, maybe there is an easier API - GetTextMetrics().
But MSDN does not say what it returns - points or pixels... :(

    Thank you.

This is what I'm referring to.

Re: Force OnMeasureItem() call on a ListBox

    Hi, Victor,

The closest I see is this. But it says:

I just need the height of the font. I don't really care about the string.

    Thank you.

Re: Force OnMeasureItem() call on a ListBox

    Hi, Victor,

I presume this is MFC wrapper around this?
    On that link it says:

So if I set the font of 20 points how do I calculate the proper height of the item? Or just use the bold font...

Force OnMeasureItem() call on a ListBox

    Hi, ALL,
    I have a following situation.
    1. I know that OnMeasureItem() is called only once - when the control is created - according to MSDN.
    2. I'm trying to create a ListBox (not a ListCtrl!!!)...
