    Re: MSDN issue

Well, you could try to report a problem using this menu, "Report a problem" item in VS IDE:

  4. Re: Replace regular table with temporary in SQL Server

    You are welcome! :)
  5. Re: Replace regular table with temporary in SQL Server

It is not a "bad way".
However, there may be a possibility for other users/connections access the same global table:
    https://www.itprotoday.com/sql-server/temporary-tables-local-vs-global
    To...
  6. Re: Replace regular table with temporary in SQL Server

Then use table variable instead. However, in such a case you will have to declare/define all the columns in it.
  7. Re: Replace regular table with temporary in SQL Server

The problem seems to be in the
If you just add this text:

    SELECT TOP 31 n = IDENTITY(INT, 1, 1) INTO #TempTable FROM syscomments a CROSS JOIN syscomments b
    instead of

    EXEC sp_ExecuteSQL...
  8. Re: Replace regular table with temporary in SQL Server

Well, I've just made a simple test with SSMS v17.9.1 and SQL Server 13.0.4224.16
    I use this procedure:
    CREATE PROCEDURE USP_TestTempTable
-- Add the parameters for the stored procedure here...
  9. Re: Replace regular table with temporary in SQL Server

Do you use this #TempTable in your stored procedure only once (with shown SELECT INTO) or somewhere else?
    Note that according with MSDN
  10. Re: Replace regular table with temporary in SQL Server

Where and how do you CREATE this #TempTable?
  11. Re: CreateDialog() without using Resource.h and '.rc' file..?

Glad you solved your problem! :thumb:
    However, two questions:
    1. is it so important for you to not use MFC, but only the plain Win32 API?
    2. What prevents you to use resource template (.rc) file?

  13. Re: Changing the Small and Big icons of a window using LoadImage... How to?

Again: what error message and how did you check it?
  14. Re: Changing the Small and Big icons of a window using LoadImage... How to?

Could you post (attach to your post) your icon file?
  15. Re: Changing the Small and Big icons of a window using LoadImage... How to?

    Try:

    HICON hIconSm = (HICON)LoadImage(NULL, L"Icon.ico", ICON_IMAGE, 0, 0, LR_LOADFROMFILE );
  16. Re: Changing the Small and Big icons of a window using LoadImage... How to?

    1. Did you mean "override" or "overwrite"?
    2. You may want to show the code snippets including WM_CREATE and WNDCLASSEX
  17. Re: Changing the Small and Big icons of a window using LoadImage... How to?

I already wrote about the possible reason:

You could try to open your icon file with the VS and see which icon types this file contains.
  18. Re: Changing the Small and Big icons of a window using LoadImage... How to?

    yes.
  19. Re: Changing the Small and Big icons of a window using LoadImage... How to?

If it was the error after LoadImage returned NULL, then it means that your icon file does not contain the icon 16x16.
  20. Re: Changing the Small and Big icons of a window using LoadImage... How to?

    Please, read the documentation!
WM_SETICON message may return NULL if no icon was previously set. And it does not mean any error.
Moreover, SendMessage does NOT SetLastError. So it does not make...
  21. Re: Changing the Small and Big icons of a window using LoadImage... How to?

    1. There is no error checking in your code snippet.
    2. If LoadImage returns NULL then you have to call GetLastError.
    3. WM_SETICON message cannot report any error. It just returns the HICON of the...

Re: TCP Not Connecting. Using CAsyncSocket

I'd begin with the port numbers: since the firewall is OFF, try to play with other numbers including the default ones that Windows Sockets selects for you.
  23. Re: Reading contents of file into SetWindowTextA for output into an Edit field of win

    I don't assume so.
But it it was so then why not use malloc/free instead?

Re: How are these controls created ?

I have no idea what what that program is, however you could use Spy++ to get some info about the widows/controls that it uses (if any).
You could also look at the program properties.

    Besides,...
