Dragging a sprite over a scrollbar

I want to allow the user to drag a sprite, possibly over a scroll bar in the window, without flicker over the scroll bar and without the scroll bar being drawn on top of it.

    Is there a way to...

    Flicker-free buffered graphics drawing?

I want to blit multiple sprites on top of each other in a buffer device context so I can paint the result repeatedly as the window resizes without the top sprites flashing.

    However, when I try to...

Preventing specific keyed changes to List Box

    I'm using the LBS_WANTKEYBOARDINPUT style.

I want to prevent the user from activating the normal selection procedure through

    1. The mouse, and
    2. Any keyboard key except the arrow keys.

  5. Re: Limiting the possible x-coordinates of the cursor while scrolling a scrollbar

Thanks. I managed to improve the scroll bar a different way with the GetCapture() function. :)
  6. Re: Limiting the possible x-coordinates of the cursor while scrolling a scrollbar

The scroll bar is right next to listbox entries that I've programmed to be selected on WM_TIMER and GetAsyncKeyState(VK_LBUTTON). So the scroll bar scrolls at the same time that different entries are...
  7. Limiting the possible x-coordinates of the cursor while scrolling a scrollbar

When the user clicks on the scroll button of a scroll bar, moves the mouse cursor off the bar, and moves it up or down while holding the mouse button, the bar scrolls even if the mouse cursor is not...

    Synchronous multiple listbox scrolling?

This will hopefully be my final listbox question.

When the user scrolls down for the first time, the listboxes scroll
one at a time instead of synchronously. This happens because of the ...

    Re: Flicker-free listbox without MFC?

    Flicker-free listbox without MFC?

The next problem I need to resolve (without MFC) is listbox flickering. I've tried to use both WM_SETREDRAW and LockWindowUpdate, but this just causes the listboxes to disappear.

    That, together...

    Requesting mouse button state?

I know GetCursorPos returns the location of the mouse cursor. How do you request whether the button is being held down? Can you do it with a similar function, or is it necessary to catch...
  12. Re: Preventing the items of a ListBox from being selected by the mouse

I would use ListView but I want the user to be able to select the subitems individually.

By the way, I fixed the problem of switching between listboxes with the keyboard with "return -2" in the...
  13. Preventing the items of a ListBox from being selected by the mouse

I've looked for a Grid Control for my three-column listbox and have decided that it will be easier to simply line up three listboxes.

I want the user to be able to move from one listbox to another...
  14. Re: How to create Row x Col table whose entries may be selected individually?

I just tried to install easygrid.exe but got a LoadLibrary error. I want the program to be able to add, delete, and modify the contents of the entries. Which grid control do you recommend?
  15. Re: How to create Row x Col table whose entries may be selected individually?

All right, I've got a FlexiGrid set up. Is it possible to add or delete rows from the grid during a program session?
  16. How to create Row x Col table whose entries may be selected individually?

    Hi,

I've tried ListView to create this table, but someone told me that if I want the subitems to be individually selectable, then I have to find another control (or subclass it). On the plus side,...

    List View: Locking column size?

In my non-MFC application I've successfully created a list view:

    hwndList = CreateWindow(WC_LISTVIEW,
    "",
    WS_VISIBLE | WS_CHILD | LVS_REPORT | LVS_NOSORTHEADER | LVS_SINGLESEL,
    585,

    Re: A listbox question

Maybe you could point me to an explanation of how List Controls are used?

In the Index of Help, CListCtrl is shown to require #include <afxcmn.h>. Doesn't that require MFC?

    Re: A listbox question

All right, so ListView won't work.

What about two ListBoxes? I want them to be connected and for the user to be able to select only one move at a time.

    Re: A listbox question

Thanks for your responses so far. ListView looks like the best bet right now.

    A listbox question

My Yahoo! Chess Game Reviewer program has a listbox for the game's moves. Right now it looks like this:

    Thanks for your responses.

I also have another question. I want a listbox with exactly two columns:

    _| White Black
    1. e2-e4 e7-e5
    2. g1-f3 ...

I want them to be able to select only the...
