    What is this??? How can I fix this error?? @u_int8_decl@

    Have some legacy code in a header file that is causing much pain..

    #ifndef __BIT_TYPES_DEFINED__
    #define __BIT_TYPES_DEFINED__
    @u_int8_decl@
    @int16_decl@
    @u_int16_decl@
    @int32_decl@
    @u_int32_decl@
    #endif

    I get this error:
    error C2018: unknown character '0x40'
    error C2501: 'u_int8_decl' : missing storage-class or type specifiers
    fatal error C1004: unexpected end of file found
    What is this first of all? How do fix this or tweak the project settings
    to remedy this? Anyone know??

    What in the world is that?

    Of course you get the error. It's invalid syntax, i.e. gibberish. It isn't C++. That is exactly what the compiler is telling you.

    Just curious -- legacy code that worked on what compiler?

    My guess is that you can just remnove this header.

    It's fixed. Yes..it was wrong header file. I couldn't tell you what compiler that ran
    under, anybody have any ideas?
