    Hi,

    Is there any site from where I can freely download VC++ editor and do application development.

    I dont think so. U need to pay MS for it.
    In MS world nothing is free.

    The standard edition is quite economical. Also if you are a student you can purchase an academic version. I don't know how much an academic version of the standard edition is but it is likely to be relatively affordable.

    I certainly realize that there are some parts of the world where $40 is far beyond a person's abilities to pay and in those situations the cost can be a big problem.
