This is new to me!
But I really want to learn everything!
So to begin with ...
What is the programming language used to write 3D games for PC, Mac, Playstation and Xbox?
What are the key technologies that are required to build 3D software?

Most 3D games are written in C++, for all the 3D stuff they use graphics libraries like OpenGL or DirectX.

just one thing, writing such applications is not easy with no computing background. In fact, its probably easier to become a rocket scientist and send a man up into orbit like the Chinese did.
By the way, did I mention that the Chinese sent a man up into orbit? They did that to compensate for... ahem... their... uhm... to compensate for their... uhm... their... lame XBox applications... yeah, thats it, xbox applications, why not...

mmm ... i wasn't actually planning on doing it myself!
im actually doing some research on games studios. i was ideally after say a shopping list of software and hardware required to build a game - with a description of what each will do.
i realise this is quite extensive but im jumping into this blind and i thought you lot the experts might be able to help me out!
a little info or a lot all helps and is all appreciated!
p.s even url's i could visit?

Things like playstation and nintendo used to require special
hardware and software dev stuff and licences that could cost
over 15 grand + a while back. I don't know what they do now.
