Well, it's easy: Click the "Submit Reply" button, and then head under your desk and close your eyes and ears.

What I had in mind was to click the Log Out link right after hitting the Submit Reply button, and then not Log In for about 24 hours hoping that the person you're hiding from is offline.

However, I wondered if anybody would ever notice my :hide and run: flaw - and I really appreciated your constructive input.

Naah, that won't work. After 24 hours, enough nonsensical responses will have piled up and will tumble back on you. You can't escape them... Either hide under your desk (taking the precautions mentioned above)- or just face it.
