OK, I will now stop hunting Volkswagens from Belgium on A6-Nürnberg and focus my efforts on S40s (with loud music) only.

hihi, try to catch me on the german autobahn if you can
You can focus on S40s from Belgium with a licenseplate starting with Y to make it even easier

LOL! Right, chasing is not easy. With 136 HP, you can touch 200 kmph on German autobahns.

BTW, you didnt supply other important details: is it a petrol or diesel version? Torque?

PS: Don't drink and drive, okay?

No, this was not a farm or anything. This was the pantanal which is just a huuuge piece of pure nature. So those are wild aligators (not crocodiles ) and a few caymans. However, if you don't make them angry or anything, they won't bite you In fact you could come pretty close to them and you could even swim in the same lake as they were, of course you should keep an eye on them in the mean time...

Also, fishing for piranha's while standing in the lake with the piranha's itself is pretty cool. You could feel the piranha's bumping against your leg. The only thing you need to take care of is to make sure you don't have any blood on your legs and then everything is fine And mind you, there were lots and lots of them in the water. After a while we had more than 10 catched and prepared them in a piranha soup

205 kmph to be correct which is 128 miles per hour for the non-metrics people...

    • Fuel: diesel (common rail turbo), mind you, modern diesels don't have the negative things from the past anymore. They are not so loud anymore, you don't have to heat them before starting even when its freezing outside and with a turbo on it, you get pretty decent acceleration
    • Torque: 320Nm
    • Brakes: ventilated 16" brakes in front, solid 16" brakes at the back.
    • Tires: 205/55 R16
    • Gears: 6 manual gear

    Anything else I forgot

But nowadays diesel is as expensive as gasoline. What's the advantage of buying a diesel car?

    • Higher torque for the same capacity i.e. you accelerate faster.
    • Higher mileage i.e. you tank fewer times (and save money there).
BTW, Diesel out here is still 20 cents cheaper than Petrol...

On the other hand diesel engines have larger capacity which means higher taxes and more money spent on insurance.

Are you confusing capacity with power? You get diesel engines in the same size as petrol-equivalents. After all, they are both often restricted by the capacity in the car they fit in.

However, diesel engines are costlier to buy - so, the advantage of having a diesel motor may be applicable only if one drives a lot. If you are doing less than 10000 kms / year then you are better off buying a petrol-based engine because though costlier to use, it is a lot cheaper to buy.

    Like Sidd already mentioned:
    • The S40 2.0 Diesel has 320Nm of torque, while the S40 2.0 Petrol only has 185Nm of torque.
    • The 2.0 diesel one uses on average 5.8l/100 km, while the 2.0 petrol uses on average 7.4l/100 km.
    • In Belgium, diesel is 1.151 euro per liter, petrol is 1.440 euro per liter

... also, it's a company car, so, we cannot choose whether we want diesel or petrol, but if you look at the above numbers, diesel is not a bad choice

No, no, I meant engine capacity, not car capacity . As far as I noticed, many cars came in two versios: diesel and gasoline. But the diesel engine is always larger in capacity than the gasoline one. For instance I have a Skoda Octavia 1.6l. The equivalent on diesel is 1.9l. That's what I meant.

As for lower fuel consumption, yes, that's true.
