Here is a picture on a piste in Bad Hofgastein, somewhere at 2000m altitude.
Pure beauty! Bad Gastein and its surroundings is IMO the best place if you're looking for beautiful landscape, long runs and good afterski .
And nothing beats the feeling of maneuvering the snowboard down the hillside after having too many Jägertees at the Bellevue Alm
Bad Hofgastein and Sportgastein looked more appealing to me. But the whole area is indeed great.
The whole area is appealing. Sportgastein was closed, but I remember having a long, freezing (16 degrees below and heavy winds), but still a nice trip from Schlossalm to Bad Hofgastein. Almost 10km downhill
Here's a picture of me and some friends of mine...
This is a photo taken at the White Sands, in New Mexico...
A beautiful area, although I haven't been there since I left the defense industry....
Just watch out for errant missles [although they rarely leave the testing range, you can often spot their trails....]

When I visited White Sands, I did infact miss a road and happened to end up driving into a defense area. Was scary as I hadn't carried passport along with me on that trip. Didn't have any troubles though

LOL, yes - I did hope that we find some stray missiles that would bring me back home to Germany.
My plans did not materialize, though.

Thanks. Yes, I did!
That was quite impressive too - in particular the big room that is as big as 14 football fields. It was a real good my-first-time feeling.

You were driving to White Sands from Alamogordo too. Coincidentally, even I missed the exit to the White Sands and continued in direction of the Missile Testing range.
Luckily, we figured this out before it was too late.

Yet you location shows California as your location. I know it is a different mind set there, but did not think you needed passports.
