Very nice photos dlorde, graham, and souldog.

@graham: cool to see you play a guitar, and I really liked your photo in Arizona.

@souldog: That's a really big tree. It is a tree right?

Yah, that is a big spruce tree. Not really very big compared to the redwoods.

Wow.. awesome! I wonder if you've personally seen a sequoia tree? I've just made a quick search at google and found out that Redwoods are really tall ones, Sequoia trees are wider.

Yes, I have seen sequoias as well, in Yosemite. Don't have any pictures of those.

It somehow gives an illusion that you are miniaturized.

You did also experience Sunset at the Canyon, right?

Well said.. I once drove down from Oregon all the way to Muir Woods near San Francisco along the coast on HWY 101... It's a very memorable drive along the beaches and through the woods.. As souldog says, hard for pictures to do justice.. The very act of standing in front of those giants makes you feel so small in size as well as age in comparison to those trees.. There are some trees which are easily 1000 years old.. I have seen one which is 1500 years old and still going strong !!

Oh, yes - I got some really nice pictures of it, too.

BTW: off-topic, but for anyone seriously interested in digital photography (and, if you are, then I assume you shoot RAW images), I heartily recommend a program called RawShooter Essentials (or its paid-for - and better - alternative RawShooter Premium). It can resue even seemingly hopeless pictures.

We now return you to our regularly scheduled programmes...
