Nightwish: End of An Era
This is not just the title of their last song but also a sad true: Tarja was kicked out from the band. You can read the open letter which was addressed to her here (look for the English version).
I feel so sad. Nighwish is currently my favorite rock band. Tarja has a great voice. I can't imagine Nightwish without her. No one can replace her. They could try to do something different, but Nighwish will never sound like this again.
Some wounds never heal
Some tears never will
Dry for the unkind
Cry for mankind

Yes, she and her voice definitely were the soul of Nightwish...

Re: Nightwish: End of An Era
She was not the soul of nightwish, just the increadible voice. I don't know if they can replace her, but I doubt it. However their most recent album could have been sung by someone else, lst a little of the Tarja uniqueness on that album for sure.
Besides, I find it hard to feel sad for someone who has said she doesn't want to tour Australia because there wasn't enough money in it.

Re: Nightwish: End of An Era
I love Nightwish for their music...so, if Tarja is replaced by somebody else, I think I can still enjoy their music...but Tarja was a great vocalist though ...

Guido, frankly I am suprized to hear that you listen Nightwish.

And you think that U2, Black Eye Peas, George Michael or Britney Spears, just to randomly name several famous bands or people, tour Australia for the beauty of the land, for the kangaroos and koala bears? Let's be serious.
I'm not saying that I'm feeling sorry for her, I'm feeling sorry for Nightwish. It won't be the same again.

Why? Actually, I'm listening them right now. What would you have expected me to listen?

Fraknly, I don't know, but I wasn't expecting Nightwish. What other bands do you like?
PS: right now I'm listening The Phantom of the Opera.

Re: Nightwish: End of An Era
Hm.. I thought I hadn't heard songs from Nightwish.. But, today when I dug up my collection of mp3s found a few songs.. Indeed , Tarja has nice vox..
I guess that's the nature of pretty much all bands.. Bands split and form.. In fact, one of my favorite doom bands, Morgion, split just when I was expecting to see a new album Sad but true..
But, well, their music shalt stay in thy hearts and ring in thy ears .. forever !!

I wouldn't go to the Rammstein extreme.. Would say Scorpions, though

In that case we are two. Scorpions is one of my favorite bands.

Don't like any of the above "artists" anyway, I suppose your point is valid though I have never attributed such commercial success with a band like Nightwish.
You are right, it is a sad day for nightwish. I certainly hope that they can recover.
EDIT: Besides, isn't it supposed to be the base player that gets booted from successful bands?

Re: Nightwish: End of An Era
I think a successful band starts losing their magic upon the exit of one member. well in most cases.

Re: Nightwish: End of An Era
Guys you just have named all bands and vocalits in my playlist. It`s sad that Traja has gone . She has very nice voice. But we may hope that her career is not ended and we will listen her many times again
