One of our Access database has encountered an error (attached image), anyone here who could suggest on how to fix it? We tried repairing it but to no avail...

That's good. Did it help? What had led to this problem? One reason I got was due to abnormal termination of a program holding a connection to the access database but this sounds like a great limitation on behalf of Access. Regards.

I suspect it might have been our faulty lan wirings, it may have lost connection in a middle of processing, I don't have the code of the application but it may have been not optimized as well... The database has been fixed and we can really sigh a sound of relief...

    Re: Recovering data from Access

I have run into situations where the available utilities would not repair the database, particularly when the PC that the .mdb file resides on crashes unexpectedly.

There are companies that can recover your data, but I'm made to understand that it's an expensive option.

You may wish to make a backup of the .mdb file when the app starts (if .ldb does not exist), so that if it crashes you have the last good copy available.

If you're accessing it over a network, the safest thing to do is have a server app that handles the database, and have clients talk to the server. In this way, a network crash does not cause the .mdb file to become corrupted.

Just opening the file directly from the network would be much more fragile.
