Setup cannot continue because some system files are out of date...

    Hi all!

Am new to this forum and VB 6.0. When I run the setup file which I created in VB 6.0, I get this following error...

"Setup cannot continue because some system files are out of date on your system. Click OK if you would like setup to update these files for you now. You will need to restart windows before you can run setup again. Click cancel to exit setup without updating system files."

But even when I click OK and run setup again, the same error comes. My OS is Windows 2000 Professional. Please guide/help me out.

    Thank you & regards,
    Lax

Go to the Windows Update site, and check some of the optional, and hardware devices. Maybe something (like your DB sub-system) might be out of date.

Then restart, and try it again. That should work.

This is basically a known problem with Package & Deployment Wizard. This problem occurs because while preparing the setup the PDW adds some files to the Setup Program that are of older version.
