CodeGuru Conference/Meeting.
As many of you know, I have been in this field a long time.
Many of the communities I have been involved in, would host a physical meeting (typically on an annual basis, but that varies). They were always GREAT events (anyone here old enough to remember DECUS or C-CON or Unet-International?).
I wonder if it would be possible to have use all (ok, not alll) get together???
While my preference would be NYC, I think it would be better if we picked a "resort" site, picked a date (6-12 months from now), and then all (again not all) scheduled our vacations......
Thoughts???

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice; in practice there is.

Well...NYC is nice...what about mid of December...I definitely would be there...although...probably would not find time for meeting with you...rather doing Christmas shopping...
Honestly...I am not sure how the distribution of CG members in the US are laid out...but I would rather expect it to be not focused on the east side...

Neither would I, although I "think" most of the long term posters are east of NYC on the global timescale. .
How about Aruba in Sept 07. Serious!

Aruba sounds like a good place to be in September.

Well, since everyone is suggesting their own cities, I suggest Sydney, Australia. And it is summer in December in Australia so it would be an absolutely fantastic getaway for everyone.
Plus, ask yourself, didnt you always want a reason to visit Australia? Here is your chance!

If we do one in Europe, I might suggest Luxembourg since it's very central
Get this small utility to do basic syntax highlighting in vBulletin forums (like Codeguru) easily.
Supports C++ and VB out of the box, but can be configured for other languages.

Have a CG party in the infield of the 2007 Indy 500! Then we could get Brad to show up! You don't suppose that would be a party?

An In-Field Field Exercise for CG?
A couple-dozen of us spending the afternoon in the sun, watching the cars pass by a few hundred times...
Heck, I might go myself. Never been there, and always thought it'd be a good time.
