I have just returned from a visit to the Seattle Needle. The observation deck has a great view over the city. Fortunately the rain has stopped, so the view was pretty clear. I also visited several places including the Science Fiction Museum and Science Museum, were I met some scientists that are involved in a project that monitors the ice of the Arctic ocean. They were promoting the work they do, answering people questions. I also had the chance to get into a tent they use a the Pole and observe the tools they use. It was pretty interesting.
Update: So yesterday evening, Marius, Sid and I had dinner together in an Italian restaurant nearby (good choice of location, Sid! ) after our initial plans to go to an Indian restaurant a little further away got somehow blown away by the strong wind...

Reason: Photos censored by the authorities... :D
It was really great meeting these two fine guys once again after quite some time, and catching up on a lot of offline chit chat (almost no technical discussions ) over what's been a simple, but very tasty Italian dinner.

Ah, good to know... I brought a spare adapter, but already gave it to a fellow CG member who didn't read my reminder about that in time...
Thanks.
Yes, I managed to read the reminder after I reached the US... Ditto for the message on CG-members wearing CG shirts. I guess, I am going to be the odd man out in the afternoon sessions what with the rest of you in uniforms...

Okay, here's another attempt at posting a picture that will make it through the rigid censoring... Again us three at the Westin lobby after dinner, over a beer, a more close-up version...

I don't have a CG shirt either - so there'll be two of us out o uniform.
Although it could be argued that my Ireland ugby shirt is my de facto uniform.

Okay... I guess we should find you at the EMEA dinner tonight?
We haven't seen you yet, but recognizing one of us should be an easy task for you... Actually, Alin did precisely that at the Pike Market an hour ago.
Oops, I fear the chronological order is getting messed up... So let me just quickly finish posting about last night. After getting back to my room around midnight, I took this quick shot of nightly Seattle...
