    ICC Cricket World Cup 2007

    OK, I love cricket!

Who do you guys think is going to win ¿

My guess would be - Australia
I'm a bit doubtful, yet hopeful for South Africa, they can do it IF they just keep a cool head.
Even the West Indies who are known for upsets can do it.
    Pakistan ¿
    India ¿

    What are your thoughts ¿

WestIndies put up a poor show in the warmup match against India, but came back strongly in the real stuff. Beat Pakistan in the opener.. But I dont think they will go very far.

South Africa is a strong contender this year.. as Aussies are a bit pushed back following a bad series against Kiwis...

But I cheer for India.. lets see... probably picture would be much clear when super 8s start.

Yeah, the bowling performance of the youn guns in the Windies side, surprised me very much! You're right, the main problem with the Windies is the belief in their own abilities which sometimes they don't have

The current game - Canada Vs Kenya is pretty interesting...

    I'd say Kenya takes it....

Todays game was good.. 3rd ever Draw in the world cup (and S.A. has the Other two)..

The last few overs were total madness.. First you think Ireland have it, Then Zim picks up, Then Ireland Take down 3 wickets in 2 overs. And in the Last over.. It looks like Zim's got it, Needing Just ONE MORE RUN... and it all ends in a draw....

    Nail bitting stuff...

Good game... Well i'm waiting for tomorows game... GO S.A....

Re: ICC Cricket World Cup 2007

It seems there's very little interest in this thread .

Ireland played VERY well yesterday, and they actually deserved to win. Well played jeremy Bray!

Currently in the SA vs. Netherlands game, it doesn't look good for the Netherlands.

The game has been shortened to only 40 overs a side, due to rain.
SA, lost an early wicket - de Villiers, on the second ball, and after the 5th over it was just carnage!
Smith started the onslought, and plyed exceptionally well (for a change )

Kallis got his first world cup century and was unbeaten!

The real men of the day was Gibbs, and Boucher.
Gibbs has become the first man ever to hit 6 sixes from six balls (one over). Johnny Walker will donate a million dollars to the charity of Gibb's choice!
    Well done!!!

Boucher now has the record for the fastest 50 in World Cup histore ( 22 balls)
    Well done!!
The SA side also has the new record of the most sixes in one innings in a world cup game - 17
Well played boys, you made me very proud!!

SA, after 40 overs managed to get a score of 353 with the loss of 3 wickets.
The Netherlands are currently 2 wickets down, for 5.

Okay S.A. Seems to be on the record books more and more lately... Add "Biggest win in the world cup" ... 221 Runs...

    GO S.A.

Re: ICC Cricket World Cup 2007

Well, that's what makes cricket so unpredictable!

    Bangladesh beat India
    Ireland beat Pakistan.

Looks like this world cup is full of surprises, we'll have to see what transpires...

Looking at the number of Asians participating in this thread, it is easy to conclude on the mood in the sub-continent that has arguably the greatest number of cricket fans...

    Good luck, South Africa...

Re: ICC Cricket World Cup 2007

After all the upsets & drama in this world cup, I think Sri Lanka, Australia, West Indies are the favourites.
My opinion about South Africa will change after today's and tomorrow's games.
I'm heavily disappointed with SA's performance - especially Jacques kallis' performance on Sunday.
We were flying! Then Kallis came in and we crashed....

OT: What is cricket? I've watched a few games but I really don't understand the game.
