    Dilbert-isms...

    Heh. A friend at another company sent me this:
    They implement a time card which is available to every manager and then they say:

    What we are not tracking:
    * Vacation
    * Sick time
    * Adds up to 40 hours per week
    * Surfing the net

    and they also said verbally that the time cards were not going to be used for reviews.
    Then, another friend sent me this, in response (different company):
    That somehow reminded me of a company that hired a consultant to measure productivity by counting vehicles on the parking lot at 9:00 am and again at 5:00 pm. Then they actually told us about it!
    Anyone else encounter a Dilbert-ism at work?

    How did he get that kind of deal going on.
    Even if everybody spoke the same language, nobody would be speaking the same language.

    Probably gets paid to SUPERVISE the workers. Be extremely careful around him/her. He who controls the TIME on the clock gets the GOLD!

    Been there, done that. 6 minutes difference killed a Probation period. Over a 6-week period! The person was remoting into the timeclock
    and changing the time by a few minutes.

    He is the boss's son.

    Sits there, surfs the net all day. Sometimes he'll go out and do a little bit of work. Other times he'll sit around. And his daddy bought him a $50,000 company car. Sweet deal if you ask me.

    Faced with an estimated effort of 30 man days, the manager responded: "That's great, only one man month !"
