Emptying plotter maintenance ink cartridge
HI all
I have a plotter Canon W6200 that sometimes force me to substitute the maintenance cartridge.
THis cartridge collect the ink that is expelled during print head cleanliness.
Seeing that it happens a few to often, one times every two months, i was arguing if there was a wy to recover this cartridge without changing it, perhaps emptying it or resetting its chip.
Has someone of you experience at regard or different purchase options?
Thank you

If it collects used ink, then how can you do anything with the ink without emptying the bin? Otherwise, I'm missing the point here

Since you mentioned that your plotter expelled ink for maintenance purposes, are you sure that you want to recycle the ink? Usually it ensure that the print heads will not be choked by ink clot. In other words, if you recycle the ink, it will have a higher chance of choking the print head.

Re: Emptying plotter maintenance ink cartridge
It may not work at all. I think all printer manufacturers need to sell ink in order to sustain their business model. As a result, they have embedded a microchip onto every ink cartridge so that it monitor how much ink has been used. Therefore, the printer can detect if the inserted ink cartridge has been "reused" and it may refuse to print.
In addition, using "unofficial" refilled ink may damage your print head and risk voiding your warranty if discovered by the manufacturer.

The trade-off is that it's cheaper to just buy a new printer when you clog up the cartridges after a few refills. I don't do it, though. My printers last a long time

Well, I think the printer manufacturer will really like you. You definitely have help their business profitable.
I wouldn't recommend using refilled especially for plotter-class printer. Too expensive to buy a new one especially if it is still within the warranty period. In addition, the print quality suffers when using refilled ink which I think it may matter to Callum otherwise he wouldn't be buying a plotter-class printer.

Nope. Not a plotter, I meant a $39 printer
