SQA Manager

Our client is seeking an SQA Manager to manage their in-house QA Team. The successful candidate will work on processes and planning within the QA department, ensuring that all released software is of the highest possible quality.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Apply sound quality management methods, tools and techniques to create and support defect-free application software that meets the needs of the organization
• Work with Project and Development managers to define QA activities for project plans along with ensuring delivery schedules for testing activities
• Provide status reports and feedback to the Director of Software Engineering and the Project Management Team for QA projects
• Create, review and approve test plans including scope, test methodology and test case identification
• Ensure industry best practices are integrated into QA/Test processes and artifacts
• Act as release manager, where required to ensure product components are released for production deployment as tested by Software QA Group
• Act as "Voice of the Customer" when participating in product readiness reviews
• Develop and maintain procedures and work instructions for departmental processes
• Provide direct, day to day, management to team of direct reports
• Develop and track performance plans for each direct report


• BS or MS degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
• 8-10 years experience in Software QA
• Minimum of 3 years in a management or lead role
• Formal training in software quality engineering

Additional Skills & Experiences:

• High proficiency in testing methodology, Agile SDLC methodology, test documentation procedures and QA Best Practices
• Understanding & implementation of automated test processes
• Strong written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to communicate at a level appropriate to the audience (direct reports, peers and senior management)
• Excellent negotiation and consensus building abilities
• Excellent team building abilities
• Recognized for motivating and building high performance testing and software development teams.
• Experience in Telephony and Web based technologies is preferred
