DUN remember password checkbox greyed out

In my DUN dialog box, the remember password checkbox is greyed out.

In my network settings i ONLY have TCP/IP, DUN and Windows Logon. No network, no family. I have no logon dialog when I boot up win98.

Anyone know how I can ungrey the remember password checkbox.

I am asking here because my ISP have no idea.

I think it is because you don't have a Windows logon. That's why Windows thinks it is unsafe to save the password as everybody can have access to it. One way to resolve this is to enable "User Profile" under Control Panel -> Passwords -> User Profiles. You can still use a 'blank' password. The other way is to get one of those shareware programs that will save the password and enter it for you automatically. The one that I like is Dunce. You can get it at http://www.vecdev.com/dunce.html
