    Here's the sample. It doesn't have any disabled option except thee Open.

    Try i out, if you didn't download the 101 RTM VS2008 Samples for VB (also has C# version).

    Ah ha, I see your confusion.

    The sample does show a disabled item, but it has no sub items that would be able to open up.
    This is clearly not following the bug I've posted.

    The following two pictures show that the bug is still alive.
