chart with win api??

hi,,,
i am tying to write code for plotting values in a x-y plot...
i am using the polyline function by drawing over a rectangle (as a background)..do u know any thing that might help using win32 API over this topic like tutorials, new functions, technics, etc..
i also want to add a nice backgraound to the trend..showing the grid, values etc,,,
help..?
