Auto Form Submitter Url..??
Im trying to craft a URL that once entered into the Browser URL and Enter is pressed it will auto submit the info for this site & then do its thing.. but im having a lil trouble though, can anyone please help me out on this...
this is what i got so far on it..
http://browsershots.org/?url=http://www.abc.com&submit=
I looked at the source code of http://browsershots.org website & found the details to craft what i've got so far into the URL...
But I cant figure out how to have the Submit button Auto pressed from the Crafted URL though..??
Also I would like to figure out how to incorporate the selection of all the browsers being checked on that site as well into the crafted URL..??
So when the whole URL is entered into the Browser it Auto ticks all the browser boxes, enters the website URL into the forum box then Auto presses the Submit button..
Is there anyway to do this at all.. If so then how..??

Re: Auto Form Submitter Url..??
You can use JavaScript to grab the URL variables. From there, you can do with them as you want. Take a look at this post.

Sure there is. Put the parameters into URL, and then parse em with js, with the same js check and fill all the fields you need, and then submit the form. One thing though: I am talking about the case the page you request is your html you can edit. If you just want to alter functionality of some page the approach would be completely different, more complicated and somewhat limited depending on each case.
If you need more help, please explain precisely what you need.
nope
the only thing you can do is to write a parser which would submit your form taking some parameter of your choice. There is no parameter all browsers or websites understand as autosubmit.

Wanna install linux on a vacuum cleaner. Could anyone tell me which distro sucks better?
I had a nightmare last night. I was dreaming that I’m 64-bit and my blanket is 32-bit and I couldn’t cover myself with it, so I’ve spent the whole night freezing. And in the morning I find that my blanket just had fallen off the bed. =S (from: bash.org.ru)

Re: Auto Form Submitter Url..??
an URL - nope. Write an application - ye. Java offers HTTPClient package which is quite complicated but allows you to simulate any action you do when you browse a website, and much more.
There are similar packages for php and perl.
Probably it could be done using even Visual Basic.

Re: Auto Form Submitter Url..??
so why cant it be done then.. what language is http://browsershots.org coded in..??
how does that site know when you press the submit button..??
How come when you enter in http://browsershots.org/?url=http://www.abc.com it takes you to the website & also inserts the http://www.abc.com into the URL box..??
I just figures there would be a wat to do what im asking Because i can do something similar to this on my Modified Modems webpage with this Crated URL
http://192.168.100.1:555/tools.html?...ll+SNMP+Daemon
and it works so why not on this website http://browsershots.org ???

Re: Auto Form Submitter Url..??
It can be done. Did you even look at the link I posted?
That link contains a JavaScript snippet on how to extract variables from the URL. You can easily just check to see if there is a variable named submit. From there, you can code the rest yourself in JavaScript.

Re: Auto Form Submitter Url..??
Seriously...you need to forget browsershots. Even the code you copied and pasted has nothing to do with the implementation you want.
You need to use the link I provided to get the URL variables. From there, just look through the outputted array and find a variable named submit (or whatever you want it to be).
Code:
<script type="text/javascript">
var vURL = window.location.search.substr(1);
var vParts = vURL.split('&');
var vTemp;
var vArray = [];
for (i = 0; i < vParts.length; i++) {
vTemp = vParts[i].split('=');
if (vTemp[0] == 'submit') { // this is all you need from the URL
// do the editing of form contents and submitting of the form here
}
}
</script>

How many times do I have to tell you yes? You need to start trying and not expect everything to be done for you.
Code:
<script type="text/javascript">
var vURL = window.location.search.substr(1);
var vParts = vURL.split('&');
var vTemp;
var vArray = [];
for (i = 0; i < vParts.length; i++) {
vTemp = vParts[i].split('=');
vArray[vTemp[0]] = vTemp[1];
}
// vArray is now an associative array.
// if the URL was http://browsershots.org/?url=http://www.abc.com&submit=
// then the array would be identical to the following...
// Array(['url'] = 'http://www.abc.com', ['submit'] = '');
</script>
Now, take the array and edit the information into the form, then tell the form to submit().
